0.92: non ASCII characters not shown properly in tree

XnView: MP 0.92 - 64 bit
OS: Linux 64bit

Non-ASCII characters are no longer shown properly in the file tree.

Effect: Only question marks are shown, the correct charset is not applied.

To reproduce:
1. create a folder called "Hühner" or "Eté"
2. check the name in the tree

Problem did not exist in version 0.90 and older, reproducible always by reinstalling older version which shows everything correctly.
