Subject: 0.85: FLIF File Format Not Handled Correctly
XnView: MP 2.46 - 64 bit
OS: Windows 7 x64
Effect: the effect is that the functionality of the libflif.dll bundled with XnView MP is completely broken; however, when used with the latest libflif.dll from the FLIF website everything works but the .flif images do not display correctly, if at all, in XnView and .flif files, regardless of whether created by XnView or not, cannot be viewed as thumbnails (so this may have more to do with the actual file library rather than XnView).
To reproduce:
1. download libflif.dll from the FLIF website
2. download UGUI-FLIF from the FLIF website
3. convert an image in XnView to FLIF file format, saving with a .flif file extension
4. try to view the file as a thumbnail and then try to open the file in UGUI-FLIF
5. reverse the process by generating a .flif file in UGUI-FLIF and then trying to view the file in XnView
Expected behaviour: when a file is converted into a FLIF file within XnView, and with .flif associated with XnView, the converted file, with .flif file extension, should be viewable as a thumbnail and it should be possible to open the file using UGUI-FLIF (the official FLIF GUI tool) and to display or convert it.
Actual behaviour (bug): XnView converts files to .flif format no problem at all, both large and small, any format, but the resultant FLIF files cannot be viewed or converted using FLIF GUI and do not display as thumbnail, either.
I have attached the .dll file and the .png image I used for testing. When I converted the image in XnView it could not be viewed in UGUI-FLIF, but importing and converting it purely in UGUI-FLIF worked perfectly, albeit still with no thumbnail image.

Re: FLIF File Format Not Handled Correctly
it seems that UGUI-FLIF use an old version of libflif

Re: FLIF File Format Not Handled Correctly
Fair enough, - thanks, - if that is so then that would explain that; but what about the lack of thumbnails? - Is that an issue with the libflif library not supporting the generation of thumbnails, or a limitation with XnView's implementation of the .flif file format?
Re: FLIF File Format Not Handled Correctly
with libflif from package, you have no thumbnail? and load is correct?
