I am interested in this product for cataloging art.
What I need to know is:
Can I save picture files from a variety of sources to a catalog file on my laptop , presumably/preferably making a local copy of the image file to stay with the catalog?

If so, how do I create a new catalog file ?

I have looked at XnView for Beginners without success.

All the features of XnView are perfect for my task but I must end up with a unique catalog file on my laptop to which I can add, delete etc.
