0.93.1: .ppt files make application freeze

Effect: If there is a .ppt file inside a folder and you try to open a subfolder in that folder, the application freezes.

To reproduce:
1) Place a .ppt file inside a folder that contains images and subfolders with images
2) Open that folder and then try to open one of its subfolders

Expected behavior:
The subfolder should open normally

Current behavior (bug):
The subfolder does not open. The program freezes while still consuming CPU power.

It seems as if the program got stuck during the senseless scanning of this .ppt file and is therefore no longer capable of any further action.
