XNView Preview functions

How do I enable the Preview window settings - Auto Image Size to "Fit to Window"? I can't seem to get this setting fixed to this option permanently as everytime I exit the viewer, the settings get reset to default "Fit image to window,large only"

What do you mean by check Settings>View? There is this option - Auto image size - Fit image to window" but it doesn't seem to work. I still need to go to View tab > Preview > Auto Image size and set to Fit to window everytime I launch Xnview.

Anyone else has this problem? I using MacOS Mojave 10.14.4

ok, the fit option for preview (in browser) is always 'Fit window large' at startup
