Image categories

Is there a way to limit a view to those files which have not be categorized? I am trying rebuild a large (>10,000) store of images, many of which have not had categories assigned. I would like, as I work, to display only those images for which no categories have been assigned, to simplify my work. Is this possible? When, in catalog filter, I click special items and then categorized I continue to see all files, even those to which I have just assigned categories.
