file in use?

Hi :)
In thumbnails view, with some video, when I click canc on my keyboard, Xnview MP tell me that the file is in use and it can't delete it. Can you help me?

edit

the same when I open the video with the integrated player :(

"some video" you have not always the problem?

not always, I think it may depend on the file size. As if Xnview is trying to process it and then it cannot be deleted.

same problem if I want drag and drop a video to another folder :(

.avi and .mp4
If you want I can send you the program, I use the portable edition. I have test it in another PC and the problem is the same :(

XnView has been good at releasing files
If you have the preview p[em and the video is in it the file stays locked. C Licking n something else will release the file. If it stays locked and this is a continuing problem, install lock hunter or unlocker which will unlock the file when you need it

Nice if this issue can be looked at.
I confirm this is a recurring issue and only way is to interrupt activity, close XnView MP and get back at work :(
Today again I encountered this painful situation again, after having done some changes in a mix of pictures/video it was impossible to rename the folder (I wanted to use the folder name to run a Batch rename).

Even after having moved the XnView browser focus to the parent/parent folder or a completely different branch, Process Explorer shows xnviewmp.exe holding a handle on the folder I wanted to rename. LockHunter shows the same.
Daniel, happy user to manage photo and videos and show them in slideshows for 20 years (Windows 11, Linux Ubuntu and Android)
