Add filename to display on photo batch

I want to add the file name to the picture, so that when people look at the picture the file name is displayed/embedded into the picture. I want to do this in batch as I have hundreds that I want to display each photos filename on that pic.

Not supported yet in XnView MP or XnConvert, as far as I can see, but:

That should be possible using XnView Classic (Windows only) and Tools > Batch processing... Transformations tab -- Image --Text and then selecting Filename from the drop-down list...

Note that it seems to be necessary to *double-click* on the Image --Text button to display the full menu, for some reason.

If you would like to display the filename text below the image, for example, you could add new white, for example, canvas below the image in a previous batch operation using Image > Canvas resize.
