on Mac osx el capitan and XnConvert Version 1.80 - x64 (Mar 5 2019) - Libformat version 7.26

When trying to convert jpg into webp I get on some images an error 0x0x0 impossible to open

the jpg are not read only

any idea ?

I think Pierre is asking whether you have selected the option on the Output tab to use more than one core, a check box and slider at bottom left, if that option is available in the Mac version...

If possible could you upload an example JPEG file that doesn't convert to WEBP for Pierre to test, 2MiB the current forum attachment limit...

there is no example jpg exactly, one time it works one time not, I proposed Pierre to look the problem with teamviewer

Some things you could try if you wish, while waiting for a response from Pierre: the developer of all XnView software, who has a heavy workload at present:

On the Settings tab, do you have Load format settings... > Ignore read errors enabled?

Are you sure the failures are random, and not related to particular JPEGs?

Does the same issue occur when converting to formats other than WEBP, PNG for example?

Does the issue occur when using XnConvert 1.79, the version before multiple core support was introduced?

XnView software seems less tolerant of malformed files than some other software, so that rather hidden setting can be relevant.

But if the error normally occurs only after successfully reading around 2500 files, that seems significant and could be useful information for Pierre.

Another question: are the files being read all on your computer hard drive?

Although it might be inconvenient, downloading and installing XnConvert 1.79 [scroll well down] which only uses a single core, might also provide useful information.
