CANON ScanGear cannot stay open

First of all many thanks for the great work so far. Unfortunately there seems to be a bug, which makes scanning via TWAIN unpleasant for me. Now on with the description:

XnView: MP 0.94.1 - 64bit
OS: Windows 10 - 64bit
Scanner: CANON CanoScan LIDE 600F with newest (but old, I know) driver available from CANON (12.1.2.0)

Despite ScanGear is advised to stay open after a scan for more acquisitions, XnViewMP closes the driver window right after each single scan.

Effect: Cannot scan multiple different documents in a single ScanGear session, so the driver has to be reopened and initialized for each single document. This consumes a lot of time and clicks.

To reproduce:
1. Open XnViewMP
2. Select previously installed TWAIN driver of the scanner (not WIA, but maybe this also is affected)
3. Click File\Scan
4. Change settings of driver to leave scan dialog open after scan
5. Perform any kind of scan

Actual behaviour (bug): As soon as image acquisition and transfer to XnViewMP is finished, the scan dialog closes.

Expected behaviour: In this case (considering step 4.) the scan dialog should stay open in order to be able to scan another document right away.

Note: This works as expected in XnView Classic.

A practical problem with settings options is that users will often not be aware of the option, or be slow to discover it:

Would it possibly be better to set the default .ini option to False? It would probably be better to have to close the interface when finished, than to have to keep opening it when making a series of scans and to not be aware of the option...

Or, ideally, could an option 'Leave scanner interface open' be added to the TWAIN launch window?

As long as there would be a possibility for making such a setting inside the interface I would feel comfortable about it. But yeah, I see options/settings dialog might not be the optimal place. For me the most probable place to search for it would be the TWAIN-selection dialog I guess. Personally I would like an option somewhere in the interface that I could "set and forget", so not decide it every time the image acquisition is used - well, obviously not really "forget" .
