Hi, I don't know if I've got a corrupted install of Windows 10, but, I figured I'd report this as a bug to see if others have experienced the same issue.
Problem:
When trying to open a .webp file from a Windows File explorer (or Directory Opus - tested both), WebP refuses to view. I just get an empty XnView MP Window.
If I have browser set to open on startup, then, I will get a browser. Since, I prefer to open XnView MP without the browser, I get an empty window, instead.
Workaround:
Double click another picture in the same directory, then click the "next file" arrow to view the WebP. You can also open the "Browser" within XnView MP and double click WebP files from there to view them.
More info:
I have tested using Revo Uninstaller to uninstall XnView MP and delete leftover files and registry entries before installing the newest version of XnView MP. I remember a version prior to v0.9 working, but I do not remember which version it was. Probably 0.8 something. Sorry, I realize that is not very helpful.
System Info
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit
XnView MP Versions Tested: Version 0.94beta 1 64bits (Sep 17 2019) & Version 0.9 Stable
Okay, so, I just downgraded to version 0.85, which is the version I last remember using before v0.9...
I set my default program for opening photos to GIMP, then immediately changed it to XnView MP.
I was then able to open .webp files using version 0.85
I uninstalled 0.85, installed 0.93.1 x64 Stable
Set default program for photos to Gimp, then back to XnView MP
Problem solved. I am now able to open .webp files with XnView MP v0.93.1
There is something strange going on, I don't fully understand it, but doing all of the above steps, somehow caused the problem I was having to resolve itself.
