Large images slow to generate thumbnails

When I have a folder of very large images (>1MiB, >6000x4000), XnViewMP will often be slow about generating thumbnails. What settings are the best for speeding up thumbnail generation? Could the problem be with the thumbnail cache getting filled, and needing to be regularly deleted?

Try Optimizing and see if that helps. And make sure you have not set a limit on thumbnails on the SETTINGS / CATALOG page
