Issue is on macOS Catalina 10.15.2, freshly installed
I recently switched from Windows to Mac, and there is a lot of difficulty in drag & drop sorting in XnView MP. If I move the placement of a single file, it works without problem. There's a shadow of the image while the file's placement is being moved. However, when I try to sort more than one file, nothing happens. The cursor moves without a shadow and does a rectangle selection instead. Then, sorting is completely broken, even when trying to move a single file again. The only option is to quit and relaunch XnView MP.
I wouldn't be surprised if this problem is related to Qt, as described in this thread. I would like to suggest a possible remedy/improvement.
My idea would be to allow the user to highlight one or more files, scroll anywhere in the thumbnail or file list, and offer the right-click option "Place files here..." Then the placement of the files will jump to where the cursor is. This also provides an alternate simple way to custom sort a large number of files.
Hope you'll consider and thank you for continuing development of this great software.
