Hello:
I have Windows 10, v 1909 (just upgraded), and XnViewMP 0.94.2, 64-bit.
I run Associate files with XnViewMP.exe as administrator, set association (1 or all, does not matter), and get error message "Problem to change file association. Please try to start with admin rights."
What can I do to get this to work?
Thanks/Hans L

Are there errors and exactly what steps are you using to associate the files?

Rick, I reinstalled XnviewMP, and now, when I go to Tools > Settings > Integration > Integration and click button "Set file associations", I get the message "To change your default apps, go to Settings > Apps > Default apps.", which I did, and I was able to set file associations for XnviewMP.
I guess there has been some change in Windows 10 (I have v.1909) that makes file association impossible in XnviewMP itself.

Hans L

There have been similar association issues under windows 10:

I'm using portable xnviewMP under win10x64ent, I have the association issue with pretty much all files that I have to manually associate, even .bmp, I have some weird issues connected to filenames of .webp even after editing registry. Except afaik only jpg and gif are fine.
Thumbs won't be showing and heic saving won't be available if you turn off AppXSvc.
