Importing MOV files into wrong folders

I've been trying to import several MOV files, but they're not getting sorted into the right folders. I have it set up to import by date and it appears XnView is looking at the FILE creation/modified date instead of the MOV file's "Media Created" date. Unlike photos, there is no "Date Taken" date when I look at the properties. I'm using Windows 10.

For example, one file has a "Media Created" date of 2017-02-01 and a "File Created" date of 2017-04-01. XnView will import into folder "2017-04-01", which is incorrect. However, a photo taken on the same day with a "Date Taken" of 2017-02-01 will correctly be imported into folder "2017-02-01". Again, all these lables are what I see in Windows 10. Is this a bug?

Then I'm wondering how others are importing and sorting videos from their iPhones, which records in .MOV. Or do they simply not use XnView for this? Will it be implemented in future versions?
