I'm a new XnView MP user and want to use it to tag my photos with keywords (using the IPTC/XMP edit dialog). But after I've added keywords to some files to test the program I notice that I now have two versions of the files; one with the keywords and one without.
The file with the keywords has kept the old file name (eg P1050183.JPG), and the original file without keywords has got an extension to the file name including today's date and time (P1050183-2020-01-28_14-39-20-486.JPG). Is this how it's supposed to be, or can I turn off this feature?
I don't see the point of getting an extra copy of all my pictures just because I want to tag the files. And deleting them is extra work I can do without.
Why do I get a copy of all the tagged files?

Re: Why do I get a copy of all the tagged files?
The original file changes name when I use the IPTC/XMP edit dialog in XnView to tag the files with keywords. As I say in my first post the file with the keywords has kept the old file name (eg P1050183.JPG), and the original file without keywords has got an extended file name including today's date and time (P1050183-2020-01-28_14-39-20-486.JPG). So I've got two versions of the same file, one with keywords and one without.
