Preserve CMYK ICC profile in converted files

Post by Naty »

Hello, is it possible to set or cancel in Xn MP properties so that Xn does not change the embedded color profile of CMYK images to RGB? Even when you open a .tiff image, the cmyk profile program announces that the image will be converted to RGB.
Thank you in advance for your reply, Naty

CMYK is always converted in RGB to be able to show the image

CMYK is only really useful when getting things ready for a printer. You often can't tell the difference between the color spaces on your monitor
In a file viewing program like XnView it isn't really needed even though it has the ability to define a CMYK color space
If you are printing a pantone color or an industry standard (Safety signs, IBM blue etc) and have to match it exactly, then CMYK is the way to go even if there are RGB equivalents.
