Is there a way of disabling closing of the current file on double-clicking its tab and pressing Esc? I often accidentally closing open files in some situations.
For example, open two images side by side to compare their quality. Click on their tabs to switch between them. Ctrl-Tab cannot be used in this case because it cycles through all open files, not the last two, as is typical. Every once in a while I click on the same tab because I'm looking at the image and not the mouse pointer, which counts as a double-click and the file closes.
I think this shortcut for closing is not a good one. If we click on the Windows taskbar, there is no closing. It is another way to compare two documents by minimizing and restoring their window. Double-clicking on an inactive tab causes the document to come to foreground on the first click, only to close a moment later. A better shortcut would be Shift-click like in the old venerable Opera browser, which does not do anything in XnView, and there is no selection of tabs in the program.
Second case. Open some nested dialogs. Press Esc a few times to cancel out of all of them. If I press Esc one too many times, the open file disappears. Usually in Windows software Esc only closes small dialogs and not an open document.

Alright, I can get used to it, and open two instances of XnView instead.
I had forgotten about this program, and now find it to be ahead of its alternatives in internal support of special formats, alpha, and that it still sports a clean classic Windows design. Good work.
