Timestamp

I'm having a series of weird problems with the "Change timestamp" feature.

If I try to change a pictures "Modified date" to the current date to 1900-01-01, put in the new date under "specific date and time" click on the "File: Modified date" it shows that it will change to 1900-01-01. I hit write and the Modified date now appears as 2106-02-07.

I'm using a Mac, Mojave 10.14.6 and using XnView MP MacOSX Version 0.96.2 64bits (May 7 2020).

Why does it change the date that way?

you can't change with date < 1970
