On a Ubuntu 20.04 system, with XnView 0.96.2, when seeing the dialog that an update is available, clicking "Download new version" does not thing on screen but produces an error on the terminal:
XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/lib/firefox/libmozgtk.so:
/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2: undefined symbol: FT_Get_Var_Design_Coordinates
Couldn't load XPCOM.
I had to type this from another screen, so hopefully it's accurate and detailed enough.
