Hi, Google Images has announced a forthcoming feature that connects their users with image creators in order to license images. (As opposed to stealing them. This should be greeted with great enthusiasm by photographers.)
The new feature is powered by two IPTC fields that XnView currently does not support XMP-xmpRights:WebStatement and XMP-plus:LicensorURL
xmpRights:webStatement, which is usually called "Copyright URL" is part of the Core Schema. Frankly, XnView should have added support for all the fields in the Core Schema ages ago. (Currently, XnView only supports those core fields that exist in the IPTC/IIM data block. Copyright URL and about a half dozen others are only found in the XMP.)
The Web Statement of Rights field is critical for Google new "Licensable" feature.
The feature will work without Licensor URL, but the Licensor URL fields adds some worthwhile value.
Will we soon see support for at least one of these fields in XnView?

Re: field support needed for Google Images features
This would be quite helpful so that this standard is widely adopted. Here is some additional info: https://developers.google.com/search/do ... o-metadata
From the Google Spec Page:
From the Google Spec Page:
For the Web Statement of Rights, I am thinking XNView under settings could allow the user to configure and add urls, say a Copyright Info page or a Creative Commons page. XNView could already come with the standard Creative Commons URL pre-configured - https://creativecommons.org/licenses/. Then it could provide a dropdown or other UI aide to easily select the license specific to an image or group of images, which would add the corresponding link or in the case of a copyrighted or other link, allow the user to configure it.Required properties - Web Statement of Rights
A URL to a page that describes the license governing an image’s use, and optionally other rights information. For example, it could be the terms and conditions that you have on your website. Where applicable, it could also be a Creative Commons License (for example, BY-NC 4.0).
Recommended properties - Licensor URL (of a Licensor)
A URL to a page where the user can find information on how to license that image. Here are some examples:
A check-out page for that image where the user can select specific resolutions
A general page that explains how to contact you

The IPTC set up this sample page - https://www.iptc.org/std-dev/photometad ... page1.html
You can see the embedded metadata fields used by Google Image Search here - https://getpmd.iptc.org/getpmd/html/ise ... timg01.jpg
Hope this helps!
