Right, you cannot delete the subfolders that you have previously created.
In XnView MP 0.95, can you do anything with these "favorite subfolders" at all? When right clicking, nothing happens. When selecting such a subfolder in the Favorite menu (star icon in the small toolbar) the message "Favorite doesn't exist" is displayed. The favorite subfolders look completely broken to me.

Unfortunately this bug still not repaired as of 08 2020

Update: I have found a solution. You can delete the unwanted folders manually by editing a file called bookmark.ini.
The location can be found in XNView Settings/Integration/Paths/Open Config Files Location
Normally it is \C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\XnViewMP

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.98.0. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
