Hi,
I'd appreciate your help.
I tried to set up XnViewMP 0.96.5 - unsuccessfully - to open/start with a file in "browser" mode tweaking "Settings>General" (snapshot below).
Using the regular Settings interface I could only set up XnViewMP to start either in "Fullscreen" or in "Normal" (which is the "Viewer" mode).
I do need to always start it in "browser" mode instead, similarly the way Adobe Bridge start with a file. Actually, I intend to replace bridge with XnView and this behavior is the core of my workflow.
Is it possible to set up XnView to open/start with a file in "browser" mode through regular Settings or editing xnview.ini?
Thank you very much!
Carlos
Starting with a file in "browser" mode. Possible to set up through regular Settings or xnview.ini?

Try changing the startup to "normal" and see if that works

Thanks for the suggestion Rick, but the "normal" setting will launch the starting with a file in "viewer" mode.
It seems there is no explicit option to set up that behavior in XnViewMP through regular Settings.
For instance, the image below is from FastStone, in which I could see that option explicitly
=> Does anyone know if it is possible to edit the xnview.ini to set up starting with a file in "browser" mode?

you would like to open the browser (not in fullscreen mode) with file selected only?

Exactly!
I would like to make XnView my main hub to exchange media data between applications, and to "to open the browser (not in fullscreen mode) with file selected only" is the core of that workflow.
Thank you.

And the same behavior would what I expect regarding of sticking the browser view when pasting file paths on the address bar as well, as discussed in this thread:
"Keep in Browser mode after pasting file path on address bar. Possible to set it up, even by editing xnview.ini?"
viewtopic.php?f=82&t=40849
=> I think a unique/same option could work to set both behaviors. Something like this setting draft:

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.97.0. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
