Double Pictures
Why are pictures sometimes displayed twice, even though they are only saved once on the hard disk? This can be observed in the category selection. When choosing a folder, everything works as expected (once).

Re: Double Pictures
I dont understand your answer-question. Yes, in "Einstellungen/Katalog/Basispfad" is noted the correct path of all of my pictures.

Re: Double Pictures
do you have set the 'base folder' on a clean catalog? Perhaps you had browsed folders before?MichaelP wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2020 8:43 am I dont understand your answer-question. Yes, in "Einstellungen/Katalog/Basispfad" is noted the correct path of all of my pictures.

Re: Double Pictures
Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately again I don't understand it. What does "clean catalog" mean?
I don't know when I defined the "base folder" an what I am doing before.
Is there a possibility of reorganization that removes such duplicates from the catalog?

'base path' is only needed when you use more than 1 computerMichaelP wrote: Mon Sep 07, 2020 1:22 pm Is not a network-path, but another partition of the same PC.

Re: Double Pictures
I deleted the base path. Some pictures are still duplicated. But others than before.
My analysis: The folder in which the images are located has been renamed. XnView shows the image under the old and new folder-name. None can be opened with a double click. This is only a problem with "Kategorienfilter". In the "Ordner"-View it works correct.
How can I update the XnView database?

Re: Double Pictures
... and what does "browse your folders" mean?
I used "Miniaturbilder neu erstellen". At least no more duplicates are shown now.
But some @-entries come again.

Re: Double Pictures
In the line "Basispfad" is only a backslash like in the screenshot above.

Re: Double Pictures
Once I had the same problem which occurred since I had connected an external hard drive for backups (but I think the Categories were created already).
The thumbs were stile double even after disconnecting the external drive (probably they were cached).
But I remember I had set a 'base path' .
That matches actually the explanation of the base path.
