Cycle to next/previous file

Post by thany2 »

I would like to set up a shortcut (which will be Backspace for me) to cycle to the previous file. Something like Space could do the cycling to the next file.

And what does cycle mean:
* Cycle backwards: same as going to the previous file normally, but after the first one, "cycle" to the last file, rather than doing nothing.
* Cycle forwards: opposite of cycle backwards.

I'm used to this, coming from ACDsee. I could just open the first image in a directory and hit backspace, backspace, backspace, backspace, etc, to cycle through all images in reverse. It would obviously show the first one first, then the last one, then the second-to-last one, etc.

I'm not sure if this is already possible, but I couldn't find anything. This seems only possible, currently, by using the (default) shortcuts End and PgUp together. If not possible, then please consider this a feature request. Otherwise, please tell me how to do this 🙏
Using Windows 10 21H1 and loving it. Cheers!

Sorry, no, it doesn't. Left/right arrow does the exact same thing as up/down for me.

No it does, but I wasn't asking for that.

I was asking for *cycling* through files, and with the backspace key at that. So backspace goes back to the previous file, but it also goes from the first file back to the last file.

And as for the Backspace key?

Mind you, I don't want *only* the Backspace key to cycle to the previous image. And I *don't* want the Up Arrow key to cycle in the same way.
Can I still do that?

In other words:

Up Arrow: previous image (no cycle)
Down Arrow: next image (no cycle)
Backspace: cycle to previous
