Embedding descriptions from descript.ion into JPEG comment

Is it possible to automate embedding descriptions that are stored in descript.ion into JPEG comments?

I have descipt.ion with descriptions and I need to embed these descriptions into JPEG files.

When I try Edit->Edit Description/Comment... I can copy the description from descript.ion into JPEG embedded comment BUT only one file at a time. If I press 'Write all selected' the SAME comment gets copied into every file, not different for each file as expected.

Is there any solution to this?

With XnViewMP, you can use "Tools, Metadata, Transfer"

- Select the files you want to update
- Open "Tools, Metadata, Transfer"
- Add target field = "Comment"
- Choose source field : "decription"
... Apply

Try first on a small set of photos to be sure that is the right method.
Then, you can display files in sub-folders : "View" menu , "Show files in subfolders"

For JPG photos, I think that using IPTC or XMP Captions is a more standardised choice for future.

The source field is called 'annotation', by the way, not 'description'.
