XnView MP "Search similar files" ignores "between folders only"

As stated in many other posts (including my own) XnView's "Search similar files" feature is really terrific! One small problem, however, is that the checkbox "between folders only" doesn't appear to work as intended. This is not only inconvenient, it can lead to comical results. For example a recent search that I performed with the flag set, found not only A=B in the same folder, but also B=A ;-} (see attached screenshot)

Do you have a folder sample to reproduce?
