Why do "tmp-xnview" files show in Stacks View?

Why do "tmp-xnview" files show in Stacks View?
Big Sur 11.3.1, XnView .98.2, viewing a pictured folder, in macOS Finder Stack View, why do "tmp-xnview" files show? They do not show in column view. What have I turned ON in XnView to have these, I'm guessing, temporary files in the original picture folder? I want to stop this if it isn't necessary using XnViewMP.

Please check Settings>General>File operations - Make backup...
