at present xnview labels sgi images with the .rgb extension. I try to override this by specifying .sgi in the output filename (when doing sequence or multi convert) but xnview always creates files with .rgb as the extension.
Can it be included in the file format options, to use either .rgb or .sgi?
Filename extension for SGI images

Right - when choosing the RGB format ("RGB - Silicon Graphics RGB"), XnView will automatically add .rgb to the filename.
As a workaround, you can always replace the file extension proposed by XnView in the file dialog by removing the ".rgb" and adding ".sgi" instead. Sure enough this will not work in batch processing.
Not sure how often RGB files should have the extension .sgi. If there is a real need, another format ("SGI - Silicon Graphics RGB") could be added to XnView, which also maps to the RGB format but defaults to the file extension .sgi.
Let us know how you go with that workaround.

Also interested in batch conversion .sgi extension
I'm also interested in batch conversion to sgi images with .sgi extension.
Please let me know when it would be available.
Thanks,
Walter
