cannot clear the history

Good morning.

I have a problem with the history.
When I open an image, I always get a history displayed and I can scroll it by turning the mouse wheel.
See picture 1.

This I would like to disable completely.
I went into the settings and set the maximum entries under Recent files to 0 and checked Purge Recent files and folders on exit. See pic 2.

Unfortunately these settings did not work.

Can you help me? What am I doing wrong?

You might have inadvertently saved a “session”.
Please go to Tools → Settings… → General → General and click the Reset all confirm prompts button.

Where exactly do we manage sessions?

Tools » Settings... » General » General » Confirm 'Session' saving on program exit

Alternative method:

1. Reset all confirm prompts in Tools » Settings... » General » General.
2. Open an image in the viewer and quit XnView.
3. You'll be asked to confirm if “you want to save this session” and if you want XnView to “show this message again”.

where is the history?

Hi.

As an example:
I had 5 images open, then close XNView and open a new image with a double click, this image is displayed to me. So beautiful so good.
But what I then see is that XNView shows me at the bottom left how many pictures I once had open. You can see this in my first picture above.
If I then turn the mouse wheel, I can even change the pictures.
However, I would like XNView to forget that it has already displayed certain images.

Is that possible?

Tools, Settings, Interface, Mouse, Mouse wheel, Zoom in /out
is a good choice ...
