I'd like to see a function where XnView will take an image and straighten it.
If you scan a page, or recieve a fax via email, sometimes the page is slightly skewed by 1 or 2 degrees, or less than a degree.
I've seen one program that does an excellent job at it, however it costs a fortune. I can do it in Photoshop but it's very time consuming. It would be nice to see XnView incorporate this into it's next version

DeSkew or Straighten

XnView should try to interpret the image and then automatically straighten/deskew it. IE : Press CTRL-D and it straightens the image.
XnView already has rotate, but it doesn't give enough adjustment. It only has 1 degree increments. Sometimes I need to adjust by a half or a quarter of a degree.
I could even go for a manual rotate with adjustments to 0.01 of a degree if I had some kind of horizontal reference to be able to match it up.

In some situations, manual rotating with less than 1 degree is really needed.
And an automatic de-skew would be helpful, even if I don't know how much effort programming this is. As you probably know, XnView supports Adobe Plugins, perhaps there is a filter somewhere available which can do this?

I agree with this request, but XNView will need to improve its rotation algorithm first. Rotate an image by a few degrees in XNView, then perform the same rotation in Photoshop or Paintshop Pro. Zoom into both images and compare them.
You'll see what I mean. XNView rotation creates block artifacts that look like jpeg compression blocks.
