Manjaro KDE unable to open with external programs

Anytime I attempt to open a file with external software or in the file browser, I'm given an "Error - KIO Client" message. The terminal says "kf.service.services: KApplicationTrader: mimeType "x-scheme-handler/file" not found". What should I do here?
