0.99.1: XnView MP flashes a blank gray page and a blank white page when I open it to the viewer mode.
XnView: MP 0.99.1 (occurs in versions as early as 0.98.4) - 64-bit
OS: Windows 10 - 64-bit
Effect: XnView MP flashes a blank gray page and a blank white page when I open it to the viewer mode.
To reproduce:
1. In browser mode, select an image.
2. Press enter to open the image in viewer mode.
3. Close XnView MP and save the session.
4. Launch XnView MP, restoring the session.
Also:
1. In Settings > General, set "Mode when starting with a file" to "Normal."
2. Close XnView MP.
3. Open an image with XnView MP.
This problem is a severe accessibility issue that negatively impacts people with sensitive eyes, especially in low-light environments.

I tested images of varying file sizes and file types. I attached a GIF illustrating the problem. For the GIF, I tested a single JPG image that is 378 KB.

I opened the image in viewer mode, closed XnView MP, saving the session, and then launched XnView MP, loading the session. Also, I set "Mode when starting with a file" to "Normal" in settings and then opened the file with XnView MP in File Explorer. There are only two images in the folder. XnView MP flashes a bright blank white page when I maximize it, too:
You can download the image from here.

This problem also occurs in other Windows software (their Linux counterparts are unaffected), e.g., Shotcut, which the developer thinks may be related to Qt behavior. Is this relevant to XnView MP?

Re: 0.99.1: XnView MP flashes a blank gray page and a blank white page when I open it to the viewer mode.
The white page is usually much slower and more noticeable on my system, as depicted by the GIFs. So much so that it is blinding. Does XnView MP use Qt? The lead developer slated a fix for the same problem in Shotcut for version 21.11. Since that version is not available yet, I am unsure how well it works in practice, but it involves adjusting the window opacity. See the GitHub link for details. Can you apply a similar workaround to XnView MP?

Is it possible to change the color of the flash to black? It seems like a small thing, but as it is, every time I open an image the entire room gets lit up as if by a camera flash (which is disturbing to others in the room) and I'm slightly blinded.
