XnViewMP crashes when indexing a large photo collection

Hi, I am new to XnViewMP and I am looking for some help. I have installed the latest 64bit version of XnViewMP. It crashes less than a minute when pointed to a large (~80000 items) photo/video collection. The collection is on an SSD. I can see the following info in the Windows Application log.

do you have send the crash with crash dump dialog?

Hi Pierre,

the XnViewMP is configured to send anonymous logs. Unfortunately, the program window simply closes in the middle of indexing, without giving me any options of sending the crash dump. The best I could do is to find some logs in the Windows Applications logs.

your folder contains which format? You only open this folder in browser mode?

I am having the same problem. I have windows set to use the program as my default picture viewer. When I open a e.g., png file, it doesn't crash immediately (just a few seconds later) so maybe it is sending the crash reports - I don't know. The directory is close to 2000 items, all types - pngs, jpgs, epub, pdf, mobi with the majority pdfs.

it seems that you have a pdf file that crash ghostscript

Ok, i can reproduce the crash in ghostscript with your files

What is the next step? How is it crashing Ghostscript and should your program safeguard against this? This is one reason I have used v1.74 of XnView all these years because it doesn't have these kind of issues. I was hoping to step up to a more modern version and this version is faster than previous versions, another reason that held me back from upgrading before now.

Can you fix the problem? I know the files themselves can be opened and don't appear to be corrupt, but obviously something differentiates them from the others.

By the way - I donated but you don't make it easy

1. Went to donate - hit donate button - all it did was move the image displaying your different products.
2. Undeterred, I loaded it in Firefox and turned off page style. Scrolled down to find donate button. Clicked.
3. Finally got to Donate screen. I saw donation where it listed the product multiplied twice already to get a little more than $11.00 in fee. This is
fine because the original donation was to be $10.00.
4. Filled out all the info and got to Paypal, logged in and found that it too treated the donation as a product. I got taxed on a donation! hehe.
5. The final donation was almost $13.00. Funny, but I guess my state where I live has the last laugh cause they get the tax.
