On my XP home office system i use an Admin account for installation. I use a User account for work.
I install xnview as admin.
Now i had the problem that i can't save any settings as an user. All settings are gone after restart xnview.
How can i work with xnview on XP with more than one (admin) user ?
Please excuse my English!

Re: Settings not stored
First, it is a good idea to have an Admin account with all rights and a user account with restricted rights. The problem you encounter is due to restricted rights. All the programs running on your user account can write to your user directory, only. So XnView cannot save the options to the file 'xnview.ini', which is located in the program directory of XnView.Christian Schwaer wrote:On my XP home office system i use an Admin account for installation. One way to workaround this problem is to set the XnView option 'Use registry to save options' in the options dialog, category 'Install' (in German: Im Optionsdialog, Kategorie "Installation", das Kontrollkästchen "Registry zum Speichern von Optionen verwenden" aktivieren).
At the moment I cannot think of another way to work around this problem. But perhaps another way can be found since it's nicer to have all settings in an .ini file.

Setting Bookmarks
But i still have the problem that i can't save any Bookmarks !!! How can i solve this problem ?
Re: Setting Bookmarks
I haven't tried myself before and expected the bookmarks to be stored in the registry, too. So the option to save the settings in the registry will not help.Christian Schwaer wrote:But i still have the problem that i can't save any Bookmarks !!! How can i solve this problem?
Perhaps someone else or Pierre knows a solution that both works for settings and bookmarks.
Re: Setting Bookmarks
Ok, there is a problem. Currently bookmark are saved in the xnview folder. It's perhaps better to use "Document Settings/...." to save it!!helmut wrote:I haven't tried myself before and expected the bookmarks to be stored in the registry, too.
