.iff (Amiga HAM-E) files not rendering correctly

Post by MagikGimp »

I have attached am linking to two files that RECOIL can open correctly but XnView MP cannot. XnView can do vice versa with other formats so it would be nice to see both app's compatibility improve. Amiga Hold-And-Modify is a "highly unusual technique" according to Wikipedia but that's all the knowhow I can offer on the subject I'm afraid.

And these:
  1. https://telparia.com/fileFormatSamples/ ... M/6251.LBM
  2. https://telparia.com/fileFormatSamples/ ... /agony.iff
  3. https://telparia.com/fileFormatSamples/ ... placet.lbm (wrong aspect ratio)
  4. https://telparia.com/fileFormatSamples/ ... autyfc.iff
  5. https://telparia.com/fileFormatSamples/ ... ackrbe.lbm (wrong aspect ratio)
  6. https://telparia.com/fileFormatSamples/ ... eakfst.iff
  7. https://telparia.com/fileFormatSamples/ ... 0x256.ilbm (wrong aspect ratio)
  8. https://telparia.com/fileFormatSamples/ ... leMech.lbm (seems correct but colours and aspect ratio are wrong)
I think that's all the problem ones in that directory. What I do appreciate is that XnView MX can process files without extensions. There is also this file that neither app can display that may be corrupted. I know teapot2.lbm is truncated.
Anyway, hope this is helpful. Apologies if not!
