Thanks for the reply. I DON'T have "Import XMP Subject ..." checked as that imports vast amounts of keywords and I do not want that at all. Besides, I found that checking or unchecking that made no difference

I am not sure what you want. Edit XMP? There is nothing in there. There is data in Edit IPTC under Keywords
