Suggestion: Size ratio per file and total

Post by kaminajihat »

I would like to collaborate by making three suggestions:
There are three indicators present in the FSPR conversion window.
I feel that they could be implemented in Xn to have a more complete interface.

1) Quantitative indicator of images already converted v total number of images.

2) Conversion ratio indicator (per converted file):
Shows the ratio difference (c) in original file size vs file size converted to the new format.
It shows the previous size of the image (a) and the size of the converted image (b), in addition to the difference in bytes saved with the conversion (d).

3) Total conversion ratio indicator:
Shows the ratio in total size of the sum of converted files vs original files at the current moment.
It also shows:
- The total size of processed files;
- The total size of the already converted files;
- The total difference in size.

Thank you for registering here and your suggestions for XnConvert, kaminajihat. My reply is very late but perhaps it's of use and you read it. And most of all Pierre, the author of XnView reads it. ;)

Currently, XnConvert writes status and results generated during conversion in some kind of log in the "Status" tab. This is o.k. but this log could be structured more. Your suggestion with a table looks pretty with numbered files and additional info looks pretty good to me. All overall info could be gathered and displayed outside the table - position of sums should be same as in the table.

During conversion users may even scroll through the table and have a look at size ratio and other info. Whenever the user doesn't interact with the table for a while (some few seconds), XnConvert should move the table and display the currently processed file.

No problem.
We all have our activities, there is not always enough time to respond to everyone at all times.

I'm glad you considered my suggestion useful.
