Screen Capture Button Assignment

Post by Buzzard »

Is there currently a way to assign the screen capture function to a hardware button? If not, will this be added in the next release?

I take a lot of screen capture shots and I currently use Resco PicViewer's screen capture utility. I can assign it to a hardware button and make a capture at any given time (without having to open Resco PicViewer). This is pretty much the only reason I use Resco's app. If this functionality were in XnView Pocket, I could completely remove Resco's.

As it stands now, I could still take screenshots with XnView, but I have to open the app, and navigate through the menu, etc. (not as easy as just hitting a button). There are other free apps out there that do this as well, but I haven't found one that supports .png format (mostly .bmp or .jpg).

This is a great app!! Keep up the good work! I love the tga viewing capability (only app I've found that does this). Would it be possible to add ico viewing as well?

Thanks for the response. There is a program in the beta stages right now called Wisbar Advanced Desktop (magnificent program!!) that allows you to create an actual working desktop on your Pocket PC and use ico icon images as shortcuts to programs, files, etc... I have so many ico icons on my CF Microdrive, it would be nice to view all of them in a quick thumbnail format.

Just to answer you Pierre. As I am currently working on IconXT I can confirm that the pocket pc do not support .ico even we can force them with a special way but they seem anyway converting (I speak for file explorer)
And if you remember my old request concerning ico like Buzzard it was because that time I believed that pocket pc supports .ico.
