I'm not able to reproduce, is it possible to make a screencast to show the problem?

I have the same problem with the missing treeview refresh, after I created a new folder.
But the problem will occure on the boot partition of Windows 10 Pro (64bit) only, if I start XnViewMP without admin rights.
All the other drives show a correct treeview with the new created folder!

I created the folder in the Windows standard download folder or documents of my user account.
There are read and write permissions available.

Hello,

I confirm (XnvMP 1.0 win 8.1) that the folder panel doesn't update when some changes are made from inside Xnview MP.

Eg. : create a folder in the thumbnail panel : folders panel won't update automatically

Thanks for listening.

Hello,

This issue of automatic update reminds me another one : viewtopic.php?p=163428#p163428 :
Ne serait-il cependant pas envisageable d'envisager (éventuellement de façon optionnelle) un F5 automatique lors de toute application/retrait de mot clé à une ou plusieurs images ?
Wich in english would be : "wouldn't it be possible to consider (possibly optionally) an automatic F5 during any application/removal of a keyword to one or more images?"

Thanks for listening

Have we got now a video? I have no software for doing this.

Here again: right side: created a new folder, left side: it shows new folder but not the name. Now I need again to print F5.
That should be enough to reproduce it.

On some computers the automatic update of folders and files works fine while on other computers it doesn't work at all.
I'm not deep in technical things but from what I understand, XnView MP has to register for Windows events for automatic updates when folders or files are changed or added. Maybe this registration doesn't work on some computers for some reason. Perhaps admin rights are required? Does the problem still occur when starting XnView with admin rights? This is just an idea...

There is another issue, which is created by XNview since several months.
Left side is the local hard disk. Right side the network drive for the backups. Often you will see not the folder names, but instead the short DOS names. This is happening, when the folders are created in XNview (in this case last night), then synced to the backup. Some folders, not all and not replicable when and why - are getting security problems with the owner. This cause then the shorter names on the backup drive. The only way then is to manually delete them by rmdir in DOS prompt window and create the folder new in Windows explorer and move the files inside to them.
I know this is tricky too now for you, but I think it could come from the same grounding problem with the rights. I have only my 1 user here with admin rights.

Some notes behind:
Today I created folders in Explorer and then clicked to XNview. That works without the folder permission problems and it can see it there in the moment, when I go back to XNview. A workaround which is ok, until the problems are fixed.

Hello,
Create a folder in the thumbnail panel : folders panel won't update automatically
Still not working, in some situations situations.

In folder pane, folders in the desktop are visible in three places:

1- At the very bottom of the folder tree
2- "This PC > Desktop"
3- "This PC > C: > users > username > Desktop"

in the thumbnail panel, create or delete a folder in the desktop: only 3 will update automatically. 1 and 2 need that XnviewMP be closed and reopened (F5 won't be enough)

Thanks

1.3 on win 11
