Backspace and Delete no longer work for text editing

Post by Akovia »

XnView MP Linux
Version 1.3 64bits (Sep 6 2022)
Libformat version 7.121

I went to edit a filename today and noting happens when I hit the Delete key, and using the Backspace key backs me out of the current folder even when I have the image text in edit mode.

It's been a while since I last used this on my Linux machine, so I don't know if this was from the latest update or not.

no problem here, you have the problem only in browser mode?

It appears to be platform dependent. I tried at work today on a Windows computer and it worked fine.

It also works fine when using dialog to rename. It only has issues when directly renaming something in browser mode or tree. If you try to rename in viewer mode it uses the dialog anyway, so that's not an issue.

I'm on Arch Linux so I have much newer packages and libraries than Ubuntu. I'm guess something changed in QT?

I've had to go back to using the dialog window for renaming which is so many more steps and is really frustrating. Renaming in the dialog takes three Tabs to reach the OK button. (Or Alt+o which is actually more disruptive for me)

I really wish OK was highlighted by default so hitting Return applied changes immediately.

Thanks for having a look. I'd bet this will cross your path in the near future. If I turn up anything I'll post here.

Cheers!
