File rename dialog does not close when hitting "ENTER" key. "ENTER" key does not save the modified filename.
Effect: Nothing happens, after hitting the "ENTER" key in the Rename file dialog.
To reproduce:
1. Open an image file in XnView in fullscreen mode
2. Hit "F2" key to enter the Rename File dialog.
3. Make/type any adjustment to the filename, then
4. Press "ENTER" key to apply the changes and to close the dialog
Actual behavior (bug): nothing happens and have to grab the mouse and click the OK button, or "TAB" to the OK button and hit "ENTER"
Expected behaviour: After pressing "ENTER" the dialog window closes. It should be the equivalent of mouse clicking on the OK button.
I am using this method since ages: I browse several files, by opening the first image in a folder of images, then renaming manually one by one then moving to the next image in the folder.
Now, because of this behavior ("ENTER" does not take effect), I have to switch between typing and grabbing the mouse and clicking in the OK button of the dialog, then back to typing.
This problem came up recently after upgrading XnView to the latest version.
It seems it may be related to the issue with the behavior of "ENTER" key reported in the below topics and the Rename dialog is just another place where this happens:
