Can anyone please help? We have a video of a new baby taken on a digital (still) camera and the photographer foolishly turned the camera and took the picture vertically. Is there is simple way I can rotate the picture (as is possible for a still photo)? Would be pleased to hear ideas. Thanks

:) Hello, welcome aboard !

• It's possible easily to rotate one image by 90°, but for a video, it isn't possible with XnView, AFAIK…
- Maybe some specilalized programs exist to do this ?
<joke>Except to turn round the monitor, I don't see a simple solution at the moment… :D </joke>

 Kind regards,

• Did you try being in bed ? :P

- More seriously : I'll give a glance on the Web, in order to discover the appropriate program, as far as it exists…

You should try VirtualDub (freeware), which is very powerful, although a bit complex.
There are filters to rotate a video. You will need to open the video, apply a filter rotate and recompress the video in AVI format (DivX or other).

You can turn videos using Windows Movie Maker (included in XP). The program is pretty easy to use, just import the video, click on video effects (on the left) and rotate 90 deg.

I have found that Windows Movie Maker frequently does not preserve a movie's aspect ratio after rotation.
