Hi all,
I often scan multi-page B/W images with XNView. I have recently switched to XNView MP and it seems there's something wrong when scanning multi-page B/W PDF's.
If I scan a document, both the .TIF and .PDF files are saved (I was used to the .TIF files being thrown away). Now, when I scan a single A4 B/W page, the resulting PDF is always around 10,5 MB.
The correspondigng TIF file size depends on the setting for TIFF filles. When I set CCITT G4 compression, the TIFs are about 50 kb.
However, the resulting PDF is always between 10-11 MB, no matter which TIF compression I choose, alnd also, no matter which PDF compression I select. I would normally use FAX compression and that would result in files uner 100kb for a single page B/W PDF.
Is FAX comression broken in XNView MP?
EDIT: I am using Acquire Into... to scan multiple pages and make them into a single PDF file. It seems that when I use Acquire a normal-size PDF is created, but I can't easily make multi-page PDF's that way.
EDIT2: I switched back to XNView Classic for now. Here, everything works as expected.
