Not saving Thumbnail size in browser view (Win11)

I recently replaced one of my Win10 computers with a new Win11 computer and installed my software setup, including XNView. With this monitor and display resolution, I want the thumbnail browser view to show me rows of 8 thumbnails. On my other two PCs, this is no problem even one that was updated in-place to Win11. On this PC though, it is not saving that when set to "by thumbnail size" for the size slider, even when getting it where I want and then in the thumbnail database /catalog settings having it get the current size.

I get the affect I want when I switched the slider function to "thumbnails by column" instead.

I'm considering this a work around and not an actual solution because the actual thumbnail size is not being remembered and always reverts back to the smallest possible when on that setting and restarting the program.

On the other PCs where it does work, I can tweak the size and it remembers.

Um, I click the OK button on the Settings -> Browser -> Catalog page.

The defaults of "User (System)" and "Same as catalog". And by default, using an ini file instead of the registry.

if you change 'View>Thumbnail size', the setting is not kept?

Correct. By size it is not saved. As in my top post, the only way I can get it to save the layout is by having changed the browser to show by column count instead of thumbnail size.

I've tried your .ini. When starting, browser is in mode 'column' (useThumbSize=true), i change 'thumbnail size>198x144'. I restart XnView, and thumbnail size is good (useThumbSize=false)

If you change the thumbnail size with the slider, close and reopen XNView, does it stay? Win10 or Win11?

I can live with it being "stuck" on needing to be set by column count as my use is to set it to show x number of columns anyway.
