Screen saver problem

Post by Guest »

Hi all,

I just started using XnView yesterday. Yesterday things seemed fine but today I'm experencing an isssue.

There is a thumbnail of my screen saver kinda of just hover over the other thumbnails in the browser box. It cant be moved or selected and it is a bit bigger than the other thumbs so it covers up some of them. It's just oddely placed where it shouldnt be..not in order like the rest of em.

Restarting computer didnt fix.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sure:

Upon opening XnView, there is the main, largest, box wich displays all the thumbnails. All the thumbnails are displayed propererly and at first glance all looks well. Except for one thing...there is a thumbnail image of my screen saver graphic (which I created in a vector graphics program named Xara 3D) included with the thumbnails. This would be perfectly fine except for the fact that the image is about three times bigger than the other thumbnails. Because of this, it covers up portions of some of the other thumbnails, blocking thier view.

Also...you cant click on the screen saver thumbnail because when you try to do so you subsequently click on one of the other 'normal' thumbnails that are hiden behind it. It's as if the program is acting like the screen saver photo is not actualy there...even though I can see it plain as day.

The problem is it covers up some of the other thumnails and since it is about three times the size of the others it just, plain, doesnt look very pleasing when viewing the program.

This 'problem' thumbnail wasnt present the first day I instaled the program. It apeared after the second day of use.

I'm not sure my screen saver graphic should even be included with the rest of my pictures in XnView (Maybe it should be, since it is a saved graphic...I dont know.) But as far as I'm aware, XnView does support Xara type graphics but not Xara 3D graphics - a sister program of Xara. Perhaps it is somehow being showed anyhow but because the program doesnt realy support Xara 3D graphics this is why the thumbnail is acting differently from the rest? (Just a guess on my part...again, I realy dont know.)

I like XnView thus far...apart from this issue. I would like to resolve this problem if possible so that I may continue to use the program. Let me know if there is any other information that I can include.

Thank you.

Is it possible to post a screenshot?

Due to sensitive work related content I will have to do some 'touching up' of the screen shot before I can post it.

Will try to get to this some time soon.

Do you have an email that I could send this to...instead of posting on a public forum?
