CLOSED: Categories do not display until clicking outside of 1st image

Hi, I am a Linux Mint Cinnamon user with X' Mp Version 1.4.2 64bits (Jan 26 2023) installed - and I am very happy with it.
My system shows Libformat version 7.136

I have a minor gripe.

When I select and open any folder with images, the categories initially do not show up (the categories pane is visible, it simply stays greyed out).
If I click on the 1st image, the categories pane does not respond in any way.
If I click on an image thumbnail, other than the 1st item ( or blank space followed by the 1st image) the category pane responds fully populated correctly.
I think if an image is selected on opening a folder then the categories pane should automatically populate.

Thanks for reporting.
Not able to replicate your issue with 1.4.2 on win 11.

Please be patient, I'm sure somebody will help to solve your problem.

I am pleased to see that installing XnView MP Linux Version 1.4.3 64bits (Feb 26 2023) has removed that issue.
It may not have been attended to directly, but it is nice to see the installation has settled a minor issue for me.
