I've set the "Auto image size"-setting in Settings>View and Setting>Fullscreen to "Fit image to window, large only", but XnView ignores this when starting XView (for example by double clicking an image in the windows explorer), images are displayed 1:1 until I manually choose "Fit image to window, large only" in the view menu.

"Fit image to window" in the settings menu doesn't work

Re: "Fit image to window" in the settings menu doesn't work
Are you using any scaling options in Windows?
Re: "Fit image to window" in the settings menu doesn't work
No, that doesn't make any difference
You mean the scaling in the windows display settings? Yes. But I deactivated them as a test, same behaviour
To clarify I added two screenshots, one of the settings and one of the view menu when I open up an image.

I means 'Settings>View-auto image size' is correct?
Really strange.winnylinny wrote: Thu Mar 02, 2023 4:03 pm To clarify I added two screenshots, one of the settings and one of the view menu when I open up an image.
You start XnView, 'Settings>View-auto image size' is on 'Fit image to windows, large', click on a thumbnail to open a tab, and you have not the good value in 'View>Auto image size' menu?
I can't reproduce, could you send me your xnview.ini?
Pierre.
Re: "Fit image to window" in the settings menu doesn't work
It is correct in the settings menu, but not in the actual view mode when I open an image
Exactly.xnview wrote: Thu Mar 02, 2023 5:05 pm You start XnView, 'Settings>View-auto image size' is on 'Fit image to windows, large', click on a thumbnail to open a tab, and you have not the good value in 'View>Auto image size' menu?
I attached the ini file.

You're right, that did the trick.
Thank you!
