Camera RAW : half size - Better?

Camera RAW : half size - Better?

In the change log it says: "Camera RAW : full size, half size, ...".

I have no Raw files, but I wonder what "half size" does and what the benefit is? Will image be displayed faster? Can the Raw images still be processed properly when shown in half size?

Yes, image will be loaded faster.
