Hi,
I've had this before, but with the latest versions it became very serious : when I open an image saved on the desktop or if I select the desktop folder in the browser - XnView MP just hangs for a very long time - like more than 30 seconds and is totally unresponsive. This doesn't happen on other folders. I initially thought it might be because I have shortcuts on my desktop to some pretty big folders, but the thing is if I select any those folders directly - it works just fine. The only one that I've found to cause troubles is the desktop.

Re: XnView somewhat hangs on the Desktop folder on Win10
Forgot to mention - while it is "dead" there is no excessive CPU usage (actually task manager shows 0% on the xnview process) nor any excessive memory usage. Also - it is not like "just once after startup" it is every time : I select "desktop" - hangs, select other folder - ok, go back to desktop - hangs again. Also - if I select desktop subfolders it is fine, but even if I select a desktop subfolder and the go back to the desktop folder - it dies again.

If you mean the non-MP version - no. I'm on MP for years now.

no i means old version of MP, but it seems that you had issue too.
could you edit the xnview.ini (Settings>Integration>Paths - open config file), change to debug=2, and send me the content of logs window?
